Letter from the Editor

Dear ABCDlady Readers,

It’s the first Monday of March, and the ABCDlady team has worked hard to put together another excellent issue. This month, we bring you articles on the following topics:

- A review of Mira Nair’s The Namesake, which will open in theatres on March 9th. Find out if it’s a must-see or wait-for-the-DVD.

- A Q&A with Dan Nainan, a comedian you can go watch with your parents. Find out how this Indian-Japanese comic got involved in comedy and see what he is up to now.

- We also have a special three-minute film by comedian Vijai Nathan. Chai Noon is a must-see…but perhaps when you aren’t at work. Two Indian aunties battle it out over whose daughter is better, but only one will be left standing in the end.

- When growing up, did you feel like your brother got away with everything, and you were held to a different standard? Vidya explores the double-standard between males and females that she’s experienced within our culture.

- With the approach of spring, we give you the fashion dos and don’ts for this transitional season.

- Looking to add some variety to your meals? Try our Cuisine expert’s British-Indian dishes.

- Next, we bring you the final part of our wedding planning series and discuss how to pick flowers for your big day.

- Is little Ranjit turning one year older? We bring you a special birthday party planning guide to accommodate your child’s various interests and your own!

- Our Love and Sex experts meet a Hindu female who wants to be with a Sikh man and someone who wants accurate info on STDs.

- And finally, we discuss how to get a loved one to seek help for alcoholism.

Enjoy!

Sincerely,

Navdeep Kathuria
