Our team is incredibly excited to launch our new website! We’ve been working on it for months, so we hope you’ll stay a while. Along with the upgraded website, we have an amazing new issue for you. First, we meet acclaimed artist Chitra Ganesh. Inspired by South Asian music and literature, Ganesh’s art explores the untold stories of women in myth and reality. Check out the artist and her art in this month’s Desi Making Waves section. Next, we get inside the head of two people looking for love on dating sites. First we meet a successful South Asian woman who’s looking for Mr. Right using both American and South Asian-based websites. Next, we meet a man in a relationship looking for “someone better” on Shaadi.com. These stories appear in part III of III of our popular series on the effect of matrimonial sites on modern day matchmaking. Are you Daddy’s little girl? We’d like to introduce you to Kanika. While Kanika used to count all the differences between herself and her dad, she decided to reflect on their similarities, and in the process, realized who she has grown up to be. Don’t miss this heartwarming piece. |

Want to find some volunteering opportunities this summer? The ABCDlady team put out some feelers looking for organizations helping South Asians and came up with our own list of orgs you should check out. Do you ever make a goal only to forget about it as soon as something bigger comes along? This month, we talk about goal-setting and provide a sure-fire way to stick to your objectives. So, just about everyone has experienced the following scenario: You’ve been tagged in a photo on Facebook and, to your embarrassment, it’s the worst-looking photo that could have possibly been taken. This month, our Desi Diva lets you in on how to always show your best side in photos. I tried out her tips this past weekend—she’s got some great advice! Also this month, our Love and Sex expert meets someone trying to figure out the best way to talk to the guy she’s dating about his sexual history. Planning a night in? Spice it up by inviting the girls over for Chicken Tikka Kabobs and champagne with a twist. Finally, our Parenting expert chats about the unique challenges of raising girls. Click here to check out the new site! Sincerely,
Navdeep Kathuria
